Most browsers recognize a number of proper names for colors, and these can be used instead of hexadecimal codes. Care should be taken, though, as the color maps of some browsers will not recognize certain proper names, and weird color combinations could result.

This example has used the Hex #556B2F as the bgcolor, but "DarkOliveGreen" is the same thing. "LightYellow" is the color of the text.

I played around with the column sizes until I got a placement of the color/text block that came close to centering on the pattern.
